Con Market was established in the 1940s, on a slightly elevated area of land—hence the name “Con,” which means “high ground” in the local dialect. From its early days, the market quickly became a vital trading center, attracting not only local residents but also merchants from the neighboring provinces of Quang Nam and beyond.

In December 1984, the original market was rebuilt entirely. On March 29, 1985, marking the 10th anniversary of Danang’s liberation, the new Danang Trade Center was officially inaugurated. The modernized market spans three floors and covers an area of 14,000 square meters, providing a spacious and convenient shopping environment.
