Son Tra Peninsula – The Green Jewel of Danang

Linh Ung Pagoda – The Spiritual Heart of Son Tra

One of the peninsula’s most iconic landmarks is Linh Ung Pagoda, a sacred Buddhist site perched gracefully on a hill overlooking the sea. Built in contemporary Vietnamese architectural style, the pagoda harmoniously blends modern design with traditional elements such as curved roofs, dragon motifs, and tranquil courtyards.

The highlight of Linh Ung Pagoda is the towering Lady Buddha statue (Quan The Am Bodhisattva), which stands 67 meters tall — the tallest of its kind in Vietnam. The statue faces the sea, symbolizing compassion and protection for fishermen and locals. It is said that when storms approach, the Lady Buddha guards the city, ensuring peace and safety for the people of Danang.

Visitors can climb up to the pagoda grounds to admire the panoramic view of Danang Bay, the Marble Mountains in the distance, and the glistening coastline below. At sunset, the scene becomes especially poetic, as the golden light reflects off the statue and the sea, creating an image of serenity and divine beauty.
